Welcome!
Contemplative Outreach of New Jersey is a community of individuals and prayer groups who practice centering prayer. We teach centering prayer and offer events and educational programs to support those who practice centering prayer. We also teach other practices that promote a deepening of our relationship with God and support all of us attempting to live the contemplative dimension of the Gospel in daily life. All are welcome at our gatherings whether in person or on Zoom. We are a chapter of Contemplative Outreach, Ltd., a global interdenominational spiritual network founded by Fr. Thomas Keating, Fr. Carl Arico, and others.
Practices for Contemplative Living Part 2
When: Third Saturday of October through March, and April 26: October 19, November 16, December 21, January 18, February 15, March 15, April 26
Where and time: October-December and March-April, in person only at St. Walburga Monastery, 851 North Broad Street, Elizabeth, NJ, 9 am to 2 pm. Please register here.
January and February: Zoom only, 9 am to 11 am. No registration required and no fee.
Cost: We ask $20 per in-person event or $82 for all 5 in-person events. All are welcome regardless of ability to pay. No fee is requested from members of vowed religious communities. Zoom events are free of charge. Please register for in-person events here.
For In-Person Events
The room in which we meet holds a maximum of 24 people. Those who register online or by mail are given priority. To register by mail, mail which events attending and check to: Barbara Sherry, 1189 Kennedy Blvd, Bayonne, NJ 7002. Walk-ins are welcome until the limit is reached. If you register and are not coming, please email coordinator@centeringprayernj.com so that we do not hold the space. Thank you!
Lunch: Please bring lunch. Coffee, tea, and some food will be provided.
All days include Centering Prayer.

Centering Prayer Mini-Intensive
First Saturdays, from 8 am to 9:15 am, via Zoom
Two 25-minute periods of centering prayer separated by a 5-min contemplative walk followed by Lectio Divina and discussion.
Zoom room opens about 7:45-7:50 am; please enter in silence.
